How to get there

Cuyabeno reserve
All tours in Cuyabeno start in Lago Agrio, in the northeast of Ecuador. You can fly to Lago Agrio (30 minutes) on the day the tour starts or, if you have a smaller budget, take a bus the day before. If you go by bus, we advice you to travel during the day. In Lago Agrio a guide of the lodge will wait for you. With him you go by car to the entrance of the Cuyabeno reserve (2,5 hours) from where you will take a canoe to the lodge (about 2,5 hours).

At the end of the tour you will be dropped of at the airport or at the bus station. Or you can decide to stay another night in Lago Agrio. We recommend only to stay in Lago Agrio if necessary.

Tena
Tena is easily reached by bus from Quito (5 hours), Papallacta (2 hours) or Baños (5 hours). Busses to and from Tena leave regulary and will drop you of at the bus station. From here you can take a taxi to the lodge where you will stay.

Coca
The best way to get to Coca is by plain. It is a 30 minute flight from Quito to Coca. From here you will go by canoe to one of the lodges.

Cloud Forest

Easily reached by bus from Quito (about 2 hours). You can take a bus from the bus station Carcelen or at the office of TransEsmeraldas situated in the Mariscal. Not all busses drop you of in Mindo. If this is the case you can ask the busdriver to drop you off at the entrance of the small road to Mindo where pick-up trucks will wait for you to bring you to town ($0,50 per person).
