If you want to experience the pureness and mystery of the Amazon with all her wildlife and birds, then Ecuador is the place to be. In Ecuador you'll find four different regions from where you can start your search for the most rare animals: Cuyabeno reserve, Tena, Coca and the cloud forest.

Cuyabeno reserve
The place to be for those who want to explore the jungle in an area that doesn’t suffer a lot from oil exploitation, deforestation and pollution. It is the primary jungle. If you want to see a lot of animals, this is the place to go to.

Tena
If you don’t have a lot of time and want to have a taste of the jungle, Tena can be a nice stop on your way to the south. Here you’ll find a combination of primary and secondary forest. Don’t expect to see a lot of animals here.

Coca
Close to Coca (situated in the most eastern inhabited part of Ecuador) you´ll find Yasuni National Park and Yuturi National Reserve. These areas are interesting for people who love bird watching. Be aware that oil explotation is increasing rapidly. Therefore animals are less and less seen.

Cloud Forest
Mysterious landscapes, amazing trees, birds flying all around you. Just a few hours from Quito you’ll find another world. Cloud forests are cooler than the Amazon and situated on higher altitudes. You will have some great views due to the hilly landscape. For those who want to see and know more about rare plants and tropical birds.
