| Quilotoa |
| This small Andean village is located at the lagoon Quilotoa, the highlight destination of the Cotopaxi region. Although it’s one of the most picturesque landscapes of the Ecuadorian Andes and visitors get an impression of the indigenous farm life, it’s still off the path of the most tourists. From here you can hike down to the lagoon that is located inside a volcano crater with a height of 3800m. The water in the crater has a remarkable color due to the algae, and the color changes every time, depending on how the sunlight enters the water. |
