City Tour
According to many Ecuadorians, Cuenca is the most beautiful city of the country. During  the tour, you will visit the majestic cathedrals, colonial buildings and lively squares while an English speaking guide tells you all about the history of the city that lies on the shores of the Tomebamba-river. After this tour you will understand why Cuenca was honored by the UNESCO in 1999. You can also visit a panama hat fabric to learn how the famous hat is fabricated. In the museum of the fabric, a guide will give you more details about the history of the panama hat and that it doesn’t have its origin in Panama as the name implies.

El Cajas
El Cajas is one of the most amazing national parks in Ecuador nearby Cuenca. It is located at about 4000 meters and consists of more than 200 lakes. Together with the guide you will make a stiff walk through the amazing landscape on search for hawks, woodpeckers, hummingbirds and rollers. Animals like puma’s, foxes, tapirs and bears live here as well. You can also admire the colourful flora including the Polylepis tree that occurs at the highest elevations worldwide.
    
Ingapirca
Although Macchu Picchu in Peru is a lot bigger and attracts more people, the ruins of Ingapirca are the most important archeological complex of the Cañari’s and the Inca’s in Ecuador. About two hours from Cuenca, you can find the complex that is situated at 3,230 meters above sea level. The most special sight is the remains of the temple of the sun of “Inti” that are situated in the middle of the fields of the Cañari Indians. During the excursion an English speaking guide explains all about the mystic life of the ancient people.

3 day hike to Ingapirca
If you want to walk in one of the most deserted places of Ecuador, you must do the incatrail. A hike of 3 days from Riobamba to the inca ruines of Ingapirca. In those 3 days, you won´t see (m)any people. It is you, your guide and your donkey. Overnights are in tents. For those who want some adventure a must!
